About 20 miles to the west of the center of the city of Orlando, Florida, you will find one of the premiere golfing communities in the state. Orange County National Golf Courses are some of the best golf courses in Orlando in terms of how they blend amazing golf courses with beautiful natural landscape. Here is what you should know and love about these public golf courses in Orlando
A Variety of Courses
The Panther Lake Golf Course is the most talked about of the Orange County National golf courses. With just one visit, it is not difficult to understand why. Firstly, the landscape is breathtaking. 18 holes take you through rolling meadows, native pines, natural wetlands and shimmering lakes. You would be hard pressed to find a course that accentuates the area’s natural beauty better than this one. It is a very fun course because each of the 18 holes here are completely unique, requiring something different from your golf repertoire. One thing is for sure, between the stimulating golf and the natural beauty, there will not be a dull moment at Panther Lake.
Crooked Cat is another very exciting example of some of the amazing golf that the Orlando area has to offer. It possesses many similar qualities to the Panther Lake course, but the reduced presence of trees lining the fairways gives the course more of links-style look and feel. The expansive views that you can enjoy from anywhere on the course are a signature of the Crooked Cat. While the golf course presents numerous challenges, the open-nature of the Crooked Cat allows for a bit more error, giving golfers the opportunity to really open up their game by ‘gripping it and ripping it’. This course offers great fun for golfers of all levels of experience.
The final course is the 9-hole Tooth Course. Here, you can find the same challenges that you will find on Orange County National’s championship courses, but are simply presented on a smaller scale at the Tooth. It offers a great place to work on the techniques and principles that are so necessary on the larger courses. Throughout the course you can find challenging bunkers coupled with gentle elevation changes. One of the great things about this course is you can complete it within an hour if you try!
